Koraput: A huge cache of foreign liquor was seized and two persons were arrested by the Excise Department personnel in separate raids in Koraput district.
The arrestees have been identified as Dhanurjaya Penthia from Benaga and Sanjay Majhi of Kamuta village.
Acting on a tip-off, a 15-member team led by the Deputy Commissioner conducted raids at several places and seized 239.400 litres of beer and 53.280 litres of foreign liquor during the raid.
The cops also arrested two persons involved in the illegal trade. The estimated value of the confiscated liquor is worth lakhs of rupees, an official informed.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the accused persons were forwarded to court.
