Bhadrak: Police today arrested a woman techie and her mother-in-law for allegedly brewing and selling country-made liquor at Ghusuripokhari village in Bhadrak district.
The accused persons were identified as Saraswati, a civil engineer by profession, and her mother-in-law. Police have also seized a huge cache of country-made liquor from them.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of the accused and seized over 1000 litres of spurious liquor. A car, a scooter, and Rs 1 lakh in cash were also seized during the raid. However, the two sons of Saraswati managed to flee from the spot.
Reportedly, Saraswati, along with her mother-in-law and two sons, was running the illegal business of brewing and selling country-made liquor for the past few months.
Police have initiated an investigation in this regard and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding duo.
