Phulbani: After a heart-wrenching incident of a man carrying the body of his wife alone at district headquarters hospital at Phulbani came to the fore, a staff nurse and an attendant of the hospital suspended on Friday.
Such stern action has been taken by the Kandhamal CDMO after a probe. A help desk employee also has been dismissed from service.
The matter came to light after a video of this incident went viral on social media prompting the negligence of hospital authorities.
Balakrushna Kanhar of Motingia village under Phiringia block in the district was forced to carry the body of his wife to the Mahaprayan vehicle after medical staff refused to lend a hand fearing Covid infection.
However, no one helped to fear Covid infection.
With no other options left, Balakrushna carried the body and came down to the hearse van. A video of Balakrushna walking along the staircase with the body went rounds on social media platforms.
