Narasinghpur: Cuttack Rural SP Jugal Kishor Kumar Banoth has dismissed a home guard working in Narasinghpur police station for being hand in glove with dacoits.
Narasinghpur PS Inspector In-Charge Bimal Kumar Barik said the accused Home Guard has been dismissed since March 28.
The Rural SP took the action against the home guard after a video depicting his link with dacoits operating in Narasinghpur and Kanpur area went viral, the police official added.
The involvement of the home guard came to the fore after the mastermind of a dacoity gang Babu alias Ranjit Nayak revealed about him during interrogation.
Ranjit told the police that the home guard had taken Rs 20,000 in two installments from them for assisting them in their work.
