Sambalpur: To regulate floodwater in the reservoir, the Hirakud Dam authorities closed four sluice gates on Saturday.
At present, floodwater is now being discharged through 10 gates of the Hirakud reservoir. The shutting of four sluice gates serves as a preventive step to safeguard lives and properties.
Currently, the water level at Hirakud Dam is at 612 feet, and the inflow at Mundali in Cuttack is 3 lakh cusecs.
