High-level virtual meeting tomorrow on proposals for conduct of Class 12th & entrance exams

New Delhi: A high-level virtual meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss the proposals for the conduct of exams for Class 12th and entrance examinations for professional courses.

In the meeting, all the States and Union Territories’ Education Ministers, Education Secretaries and Chairpersons of State Examination Boards and stakeholders will also participate.

The meeting will be chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Zubin Irani, and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar will also attend the meeting.

In a letter written by the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ to States and Union Territories, the Minister has said that the Department of School Education & Literacy and Ministry of Education and CBSE are exploring options regarding the conduct of examinations keeping in view the safety and security of the students and the teachers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In view of the prevailing situation, almost all the State Education Boards, CBSE, and ICSE have postponed their Class 12th examinations this year.

Similarly, the National Testing Agency and other National exam conducting institutions have also postponed the entrance exams for admissions to professional courses.
