Hi-Tech scam: EOW moves State Govt for ad-interim order to attach Rs 63.55 crore


Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the State Crime Branch today moved the state government to issue ad-interim order to attach an amount of Rs 63.55 crore deposited by Hi-Tech Group of Companies.

EOW’s move came in persuance of Supreme Court’s order to attach the amount deposited by Hi-Tech Group MD Tirupati Panigrahi, Directors Tirupati Choudhury and Madhusudan Panigrahi as a condition for getting bail.

Earlier, the state government had moved the apex court for granting permission under Section 3 of OPID Act, 2011 for attaching the above amount for equitable distribution amongst the duped investors following which the SC permitted the state to attach.

With respect of the SC order, EOW submitted a proposal for attachment of the amount so that it could be equitably distributed among the duped investors under the direction of the OPID Court, Cuttack.
