Bhubaneswar: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to lash five districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre today.
According to the IMD regional centre, a cyclonic circulation over north Odisha and neighbourhood has been formed. Under the influence of which heavy rainfall is likely to downpour several parts of Odisha.
“The cyclonic circulation over north Odisha & neighbourhood between 2.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level now lies over north interior Odisha & neighbourhood and extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height,” a mid-day weather bulletin of the Meteorological Centre said.
Following this, the IMD has issued an orange alert for five districts in the next 24 hours. The alert has been sounded for Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi & Bargarh districts.
People in these districts are advised to stay indoors and take shelter in buildings and other safe locations as a precautionary measure.
