Heavy Rainfall In Odisha Till Sept 21: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional centre here has informed that several parts of Odisha will witness heavy rainfall till September 21 under the influence of cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, the cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral & adjoining Northeast Bay of Bengal now lies over Northwest & adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal and extends between 1.5 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. It is very likely to move towards Odisha coasts during next 12 hours.

Under the influence, several districts of the State will experience moderate to heavy rainfall till September 21.

Moreover, the IMD has issued yellow warning for many districts.

Day 1:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha.

Yellow warning:

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Day 2:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning:

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh.

Day 3:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Yellow warning:

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Bolangir, Deogarh.

Day 4:

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow warning:

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Bolangir.
