Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued rainfall alert for several districts of the State.
The weather agency has also informed that rainfall activity across the State is likely to increase from September 27.
According to IMD’s latest bulletin, ” The trough from Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal to central parts of West Rajasthan now runs from Northwest Bay of Bengal to cyclonic circulation over Northwest Madhya Pradesh & neighbourhood across North Odisha, North Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh between 1.5 km & 4.5 km above mean sea level.”
Under the influence, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of the State.
On the other hand, as many as two cyclonic circulations may form over the Bay of Bengal within the next 13 days, as per the ‘North Indian Ocean Extended Range Outlook for Cyclogenesis’ issued by the India Meteorological Department.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore ,Bhadrak ,Gajapati ,Ganjam and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.09.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.09.2022).
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
