Heavy Rain Forecast: IMD Issues ‘Yellow Warning’ For 10 Odisha Districts


Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued heavy rainfall alert (Yellow warning) for several districts of Odisha in view of a low pressure formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal-Bangladesh coast.

As per the latest forecast, the low-pressure area is associated with the cyclonic circulation. Under its impact heavy rainfall is likely to several districts across the state till September 24.

Due to prevailing conditions over Odisha and neighbouring coast, Met has issued yellow warning for the districts of Bhadrak, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda Keonjhar, Khurda, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Sundargarh till 1.30 PM tomorrow.

People staying in low-lying areas have been cautioned in view of the heavy rain forecast. Also, fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea from September 19 to September 24.
