Bhubaneswar: While intense heatwave condition continues to grip most parts of Odisha, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here has predicted temperature will be intensified from Saturday.
The interior and western parts of the state will be most affected, the IMD said.
Besides, heatwave conditions will continue to prevail across the state with the temperature rising above 40 degrees Celsius for the next three days, officials stated. It is predicted that the temperature will rise above 40 degrees Celsius in most of the cities including Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Balasore and Nayagarh.
Mercury hovered above 40 degrees Celsius in ten places in the state yesterday.
Titlagarh in Western Odisha with a maximum day temperature of 44.2 degrees Celsius was the hottest place in the state followed by Sambalpur (43.9), Jharsuguda (43.5), Hirakud (43.8) and Talcher (43.7).
