Health Ministry warns AIIMS as nurses go on indefinite stir
New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has warned AIIMS that disruption of services following nurses’ strike will not be tolerated.
Nearly 5,000 nurses went on an indefinite strike from Monday demanding fulfillment of their long-standing demands, including those with regard to the Sixth Central Pay Commission. The strike has disrupted patient care services at AIIMS.
The Delhi High Court order has said that staff or faculty member who cease work for any reason, will be treated as an offence under the Disaster Management Act.
The health ministry’s directive said that AIIMS, New Delhi, should ensure that directions of the judgment of the high court are strictly followed and there should be no cessation or disruption of nursing activities in AIIMS nor such an action aided or abetted.
