Health Dept makes detailed plan for Rath Yatra

Puri: The State Health and Family Welfare Department has prepared a detailed plan for the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri scheduled on July 1.

It was decided that 60 First Aid Centres (FACs) would be set up at the strategic locations of Puri for providing better health services to the pilgrims and the devotees.

Similarly, 145 doctors, 7 food safety officers, 40 pharmacists, 30 nursing & 45 health officers will be deployed. Meanwhile, 114 stretchers & 58 ambulances will also be pressed into service during Rath Yatra.

With just two days left for the world-famous Rath Yatra, a nine-day-long annual sojourn of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, Puri district administration is in readiness to host lakhs of devotees expected to throng the Pilgrim town to have a glimpse of the Holy Trinity.
