Mumbai: Two films belonging to different genres were released on this Friday – comedy film Happy Phirr Bhag Jaegi and action thriller Genius. While the former is a family entertainer, the latter might appeal to the youth.
Both the films had a slow start with just ten percent of occupancy but according to film critics, Happy Phirr Bhag Jaegi in comparison with Genius could do better business in the days to come.
Happy Phirr Bhag Jaegi directed by Mudassar Aziz starring Sonakshi Sinha is a sequel to Diana Penty and Ali Fazal starer Happy Bhag Jaegi (2016). This sequel also casts Diana Penty, Jasie Gill, Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill and Piyush Mishra. With two ‘Happys’ on screen, the comedy quotient of this movie has doubled up.
The other release of the week is Genius through which Anil Sharma, the director of ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Apne’ is launching his son Utkarsh Sharma. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the antagonist in Genius, the music has been given by Himesh Reshammiya. Though the movie is an action thriller, it has failed to create both buzz and a decent collection.
Other than competing against each other, these films are facing a tough competition from Gold and Satyameva Jayate which are running successfully at the box-office in their second week.
