Mumbai: Punjab Kings thrashed table-toppers Gujarat Titans here in Mumbai on Tuesday night as they beat them by 8 wickets with 24 balls to spare.
Liam Livingstone, the hard-hitting all-rounder from England lit up the stadium with exuberant stroke play as he powered his way to 30 runs off just 10 balls. This included a humongous six of 117 metres.
Livingstone’s hit against Shami had sent fans, former cricketers and pundits into a state of disbelief, with Kevin Pietersen even saying that it’s the biggest six he has ever seen.
Before Livingstone’s 117m monstrous hit, it was Mumbai Indians’ Dewald Brevis who had held the record for hitting the biggest six of the season. The young South African had dispatched Punjab Kings’ Rahul Chahar for a 112m maximum earlier in the season.
