Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Wednesday outlined a detailed plan of action in the Odisha Assembly for empowering Panchayati Raj institutions.
The Panchayati Raj minister Pratap Jena said the government has issued a commitment letter vide letter no 3664 dtd 12.2.2020 to take measures for convergence of health, education and other facilities at panchayat level so that people will get the benefit instantly.
He said the government has already taken measures for setting up of primary schools, Anganwadi centres, LI and ANM centres at panchayat level.
The government has taken steps to provide potable water in the panchayat level and added that the SFC-CFC funds are properly utilized for such purpose.
The minister said the convergence of Basudha and Jal Jivan Mission has been done to provide drinking water in the rural regions.
Infrastructures of high schools, primary schools and community health centres are being improved by utilizing finance commission’s grants. At least one high school in every panchayat will be made a model school, the minister said and added that the facilities like smart classrooms and sporting infrastructures will be developed for the benefit of students.
The minister said at Zilla Parishad level, plus two level aided colleges will be provided with adequate facilities. The infrastructures at district and sub-divisional level hospitals will be provided with high-class facilities relating to healthcare.
Jena said road connectivity to schools and hospitals in the rural areas will be ensured so that people won’t be deprived of easy accessibility.
