Govt places Assembly MO under suspension for treating 3rd Covid-19 patient


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday placed the medical officer of Odisha Assembly dispensary under suspension for dereliction in duty.

Dr Lalit Behera was suspended after a 60-year-old man tested positive for deadly coronavirus which has enveloped the entire world.

He is the third Covid-19 positive patient who had gone to the dispensary of Odisha Assembly and had come in contact with a staff of the assembly.

The government has decided to disinfect the assembly. A special sitting of the assembly is scheduled to be held on March 30 at the Convention Centre in Lok Seva Bhavan.
