Hyderabad: Kotak Mahindra Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Puella Gopi Chand Badminton Foundation in Hyderabad for CSR programme in sports.
Dipak Gupta, Joint MD of Kotak Mahindra, and Gopi formally exchanged the signed documents on Monday. Dipak Gupta says the project is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility and that they would also support the coach certification and fellowship programme for the coaches and players.
Gopi Chand, the chief national badminton coach, informed the media that the construction of new facilities will start soon and will include six air-conditioned courts, a full-fledged sports science centre and a research and development and documentation wings.
The sports science centre will have top quality resident nutritionists, physiotherapists, strength and conditioning experts on board for the all-round development of the players, he said.
With an investment of around Rs 35 crore, the construction of the new facilities will be completed within 2-3 years, Gopi informed.
