Google Doodle celebrates beginning of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022

New Zealand: Google Doodle today marked the beginning of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 which started today at Bay Oval Stadium in New Zealand.

The 12th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup began at 6:30 am IST today. The hosts are playing the first match of the tournament against the West Indies.

The world’s first international cricket match took place in 1844 between Canada and the United States.

The first women’s World Cup tournament was held in 1973 and was won by England.
