Ganjam: Two persons have been nabbed by the Berhampur police on the charges of duping at least 50 youths on the pretext of providing them teaching jobs.
The accused have been identified as Rabindra Behera (39) and his associate Arun Behera (40).
According to sources, Rabindra has been working as an employee in RIE and staying in Bhubaneswar.
Acting on multiple complaints regarding the incidents, police arrested the duo and seized several documents including bank passbooks, debit cards, tablets, mobile phones, cheque books of different banks.
As per the complaints registered, the duo lured unemployed youths with assurances of providing them with teaching jobs at government-run Regional Institute of Education (RIE) in Bhubaneswar during 2018-19 and later cheated them.
Subsequently, the accused, had collected around Rs 50 lakh from job aspirants during the period.
