Cuttack: An excise department flying squad has seized a huge cache of ganja and arrested two persons in this connection in Cuttack.
The arrestees were identified as Shivram Malick of Baliguda and Ratnakar Kahanr of Manamunda.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by inspector Sushant Kumar Padhi and Sidheswar Besra intercepted the vehicle while it was en route to Balasore from Phulbani.
Upon searching, the officials found nearly 60 kgs of ganja stashed in three gunny bags. The cops also arrested two persons involved in the illegal trade.
The estimated value of the contraband is nearly Rs 10 lakh, sources informed. Police sources said a case was registered under relevant Sections of the IPC. The accused were forwarded to court.
