Malkangiri: A vehicle stuffed with ganja caught fire after it rammed into a roadside tree near Chalanguda in Malkangiri district in the wee hours today.
Reportedly, the matter came to the fore after some locals spotted the burning SUV and alerted the police about the same.
Later, police along with the fire personnel reached the spot and doused the flame but the vehicle was completely burnt by the time they managed to extinguish the fire.
A huge stash of contraband was recovered from the car.
Police officials have initiated an investigation and are trying to trace the vehicle owner based on the chassis number. Further investigation is underway, sources added
