Paris: PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, and Saina Nehwal marched into the quarter-finals of the USD 750,000 French Open BWF World Tour Super 750 here on Thursday.
Sindhu earned a 21-17, 21-16 straight game win over Japan’s Sayaka Sato.
Srikanth showed great determination to outwit Korea’s World No. 25 Lee Dong Keun 12-21, 21-16, 21-18 in a second-round clash that clocked an hour and 13 minutes.
Saina won over World champion Nozomi Okuhara of Japan 10-21, 21-14, 21-17 in an exciting contest.
The pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy also won in the doubles event against the world No.5 Chinese pair of Zhang Nan and Liu Cheng 21-14, 21-16.
Attri and Reddy will be fighting against their compatriots Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty in the quarter-final on Friday.
Satwik and Chirag, ranked 25th in the world, had earlier won against world No.16 Chinese pair of He Jiting and Tan Qiang 21-13, 21-19 to enter only their third quarter-final this year on the BWF World Tour.
