Kozhikode: The Citizenship (Amendment) Act is good, but it shouldn’t shut doors on free-thinker Muslims, Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen said.

She said that the amended law should also include Muslim community who are persecuted in the neighbouring countries.

Speaking at the ongoing Kerala Literature Festival, the Bangladeshi author said persons like her who are facing persecutions in their countries should be given Indian citizenship under CAA.

Nasreen said it is nice to hear the religious persecuted minorities from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan will get citizenship of India.
