Four Swept Away During Idol Immersion Ceremony, One Rescued
Bhubaneswar: As many as four persons have been swept away during the immersion of idols of Goddess Laxmi in Pattamundai nullah under Jagatpur in Cuttack last night.
Reportedly, the incident occurred while a group of youths who had gone to immerse idols of Goddess Laxmi when four of them lost control and were caught in the strong current of the fast-flowing nullah which is in spate following heavy rains.
While one of them was rescued by locals, three others are still missing. A joint search operation is underway by ODRAF, Fire Services, and Police to trace the missing persons.
