Four held for stealing pick-up van, goods worth Rs 10 lakh in Jharsuguda


Jharsuguda: Police on Saturday arrested four persons on charges of stealing a pick-up van and goods worth Rs 10 lakh in Jharsuguda district.

The arrested persons were identified as Narendra Sharma (40), Kasinath Nayak, (42), MD Parvez (35), Yogesh Solanki (26).

According to sources, on January 7, one Binod Yadab (40) of the district was heading towards to transport goods worth Rs 10 lakh on his pick-up van. But due to strike in the district,  he parked his vehicle in front of Great India Roadways office and went somewhere. After the strike was called off, Binod went to the parking place and found his vehicle missing.

Following this, Binod approached Jharsuguda PS and lodged a complaint in this regard.

In compliance with the direction of Jharsuguda SP, a probe was launched. During the investigation, police apprehended Sharma, the prime accused in the case and three others.

Besides, the pick-up van, two mobile phones, and stolen goods containing sarees, clothes & other materials were also seized from the possession of the accused persons.
