Four BSF jawans killed, two injured in Maoist encounter in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans have lost their lives and two others were injured in an encounter with Maoists in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday.

The encounter reportedly took place at around 12 pm today in a forest near Mahala village, about 35 km from Pakhanjore of Chhattisgarh.

One of the martyred jawans was identified as P Rama Krushna who hailed from Andhra Pradesh. The injured jawans have been shifted to a hospital in Pakhanjore.

This is the second such attack in 20 days. On March 18, a Naxal attack had killed one CRPF jawan in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada and injured at least six.
