Four arrested for burglary in Capital City
Bhubaneswar: A Special Squad with the assistance of Balianta police on Thursday arrested four persons for their alleged involvement in a burglary case.
The police also seized cash worth Rs 13,000, gold weighing 45 gram along with four motorbikes and five mobile phones from their possessions.
The arrested have been identified as Subhransu Parida, Tulu Behera, Dhirendra Jena and Manas Kumar Chanda.
According to sources, a house has been burgled on last Saturday and the miscreants have taken away cash around Rs 66,000 at Nuasahi in Patrapruda area under Balianta police.
A case (33/19) was registered in this connection and the police launched a probe into the matter.
During the investigation, the police came to know about the involvement of the accused persons in the incident, following which they were arrested.
Many cases against the accused persons are pending at Laxmisagar, Capital and Khandagiri police stations, it was learnt.
The further investigation is still on to nab the absconding accused and to recover the remaining cash and valuables, the police sources said.
