Former Minister Jagannath Rout Passes Away


Bhubaneswar: Former Minister Jagannath Rout passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar today. He was 78.

As per reports, Rout was undergoing treatment at the hospital for age-related illness.

Jagannath Rout was elected thrice to Odisha Legislative Assembly from Dhamnagar Assembly Constituency. He had won the Assembly election from Dhamnagar on Congress-I ticket in the year 1980, 1985 and 1995 Assembly elections.

He had served the state as Industry Minister between 1989-90, Health & Family Minister from 1995-98 and Urban Development Minister during 1998-99.
