New Delhi: The alleged misbehaviour of former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah with a woman will be probed, the National Commission for Women said.
The NCW said on Monday the Karnataka police will be asked to investigate the matter and report to it forthwith.
Siddaramaiah reportedly landed in controversy after he was engaged in a wordy duel with a woman on Monday. He snatched the microphone from her, dislodging her dupatta in the process, at an event in Varuna in Mysuru.
According to reports, the NCW took suo motu cognizance of the incident. It is expected to write to the administration for an action against the errant leader.
NCW chief Rekha Sharma said she will raise the matter with Karnataka DGP to file an FIR against the Congress leader.
