Former Bijepur MLA Rajeev Lochan Hota Passes Away; CM Naveen Condoles Demise


Bhubaneswar: Former MLA from Bijepur Assembly constituency, Rajeev Lochan Hota breathed his last on Thursday evening. He was 86.

According to reports, Hota was admitted to the hospital yesterday after his health condition deteriorated. However, he breathed his last at 6 PM.

Born in 1935, Hota joined politics and was Barpali Block Chairman in 1967. He was Bijepur MLA from 1980 to 1985 after winning the Assembly election on the Congress party ticket.

Hota also served as Chairman as Odisha Markfed in 1983.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter and mourned his death.
