Flight bringing stranded people from Kuala Lumpur to Bhubaneswar postponed

Bhubaneswar: An Air India flight from Malaysia capital Kuala Lumpur, carrying stranded Odias, has been postponed to May 22 in wake of Cyclone Amphan. 

As per available reports, the flight, that would have dropped off stranded people from Kuala Lumpur to Bhubaneswar, was scheduled to arrive today. However, the impending cyclone that brought gusting wind and bad weather prompted the delay.

On the other hand, Air India flight from Dubai to Bhubaneswar which was to reach the State on May 19 will arrive today at 9.15 pm.

Most of the stranded people coming from Dubai are plumbers and construction workers of Kendrapada and Ganjam districts. A handful of them are from Bhubaneswar and two more districts.

Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury said those belonging to capital city will be advised home quarantine.
