Five nursing homes sealed in Jharsuguda for flouting COVID norms

Jharsuguda: The Jharsuguda district administration on Sunday sealed five nursing homes in the district for violating COVID-19 norms issued by the state government

Of the five nursing homes sealed in the district today, three nursing homes, Agarwal Nursing Home, RK Multicare Home, and Lakshya Care are in Jharsuguda Town, while Nibedita Seva Sadan is located in Brajrajnagar and Ashirbad Nursing Home in Belpahar.

The raid was conducted by a special squad headed by magistrate Golakh Bihari Mangaraj. The other team members were town police in charge and health officials of the district.

Jharsuguda Collector Saroj Kumar Samal had directed the squad to conduct raids on the nursing homes as there were reports that some nursing homes are not abiding by coronavirus norms such as social distancing and other sanitation measures.

The district administration was worried as the private nursing homes were not taking up the sanitization of the healthcare centres. The patients were also not maintaining social distancing norms.

Worthwhile to mention that coronavirus positive cases have been rising in Jharsuguda district and flouting of COVID-19 norms have become rampant.

Samal has said the district administration taken a serious view of the flouting of social distancing norms and non-use of masks in the nursing home premises and other places.
