Rayagada: Five persons sustained injuries while three of them were critical after two cars collided head-on NH 326 near Halua village in Rayagada district.
as per reports, four persons by car were going to Rayagada to attend a program from the Bandhugaon block of Koraput. Another car was going to Koraput from Berhampur. In front of Ashirwad Dhaba, the two cars collided with each other.
The injured persons were rescued and rushed to the hospital. Sidharth Panda, Damayanti Minikia, and Rashmi Debarpali from Bandhugaon sustained critical injuries. In another car, Bapi Patra and Shankar Padhy also suffered injuries, while another occupant fled from the spot.
The police reached the scene and seized both vehicles. Initial investigations indicated that Shankar and Bapi were intoxicated while driving. The authorities have filed a case and are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
