First phase election for primary co-op societies begins in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The polling process for the first phase election to 731 primary cooperative societies started today at 7 am and will continue till 4 pm.

As many as 4,53,610 voters will exercise their franchise in the election. The counting of the votes will be conducted by the election officer and other officials today after the completion of the polling process and the results will be declared.

Besides, in a bid to maintain law and order, Magistrates have been deputed in each of those booths which also have been kept under CCTV surveillance.

The second phase of the election to primary cooperative societies will be conducted on June 26.
