Keonjhar: Krushna Self Help Group (SHG) with support of the Mission Shakti has opened the first millet processing unit in Keonjhar district today.
The unit, which has been established to ensure supply of clean Ragi for the flagship ICDS Ragi Laddu programme of the District Administration, has a capacity of cleaning about 2 qtls per hour and can clean over 500 qtls in a month.
Technical support to the unit is being provided by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment and WASSAN.
The millet processing unit has been provided funds under the Odisha Millets Mission and supported by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Keonjhar
Among others, Collector and District Magistrate Ashish Thakare was also present in the inauguration of the unit.
