New Delhi: A fire broke out in Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express late on Monday night, but there was no casualty so far, railway officials said.
According to officials several trains have been delayed in Andhra Pradesh due to the mishap.
Officials said the fire broke out in the pantry car. The train was on its way to Jamshedpur from Bengaluru when the fire erupted.
They said no injuries or casualties were reported from the accident. The fire was spotted by the pantry staff.
It was immediately separated that stopped the fire from spreading to other bogies. The pantry bogie was completely damaged.
Several other trains in the Vijayawada-Vizag sector were delayed due to the incident. A probe was launched to ascertain the cause of the fire.
It is worthwhile to mention here that last year a similar incident was reported from Chandigarh where the front coach of Kalka-Howrah train caught fire while moving.
