New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is hopeful of revival of Good and Services Tax(GST) collection due to efforts to plug leakages.
The GST collection slipped below the Rs one lakh crore-mark to Rs 95,380 crore in October against Rs 91,916 crore in September.
Sitharaman said: “GST revenue should be better than the last month. Month-on-month comparisons can sometimes lead to a distorted picture. In between, there were concerns about leakages and malpractices, but they are being blown out of proportion. They are all getting plugged periodically”.
The GST collection in October slipped to Rs 95,380 crore. It was the third consecutive month when GST collection remained below the Rs one lakh crore-mark.
