Bhubaneswar: A film festival will be arranged with the collaboration of Tourism Ministry, Odisha Language and Culture wing, and Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC) after the COVID-19 crisis.
At a video conference, it was decided that the film fete will be organised immediately after the situation becomes normal. The Odia film industry is hard hit due to the stoppage of work in view of coronavirus pandemic.
The shooting of films have been adversely hit due to the dreaded virus. The OFDC is chalking out various measures to put the Odia film industry back on track after the COVID-19 is contained.
Chairman of OFDC, Kuna Tripathy, OFDC managing director Nitin Bhanudas Jawale and additional secretary of tourism department Sachin Ramachandra Yadav were present during the video conferencing which was convened to discuss on the prospects of Odia film industry.
Tourism Minister, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Industry minister Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra and principal secretary of Odia language, literature and culture Manoranjan Panigrahi and tourism commissioner Vishal Deb were also present during the video conferencing.
It was decided to organize road shows to boost tourism in the state and highlight the places of tourist attraction. The participants were of the view that the state has no dearth of prominent shooting locations for the film industries, but a very few people know about it.
