Bhubaneswar: As many as 2100 employees of 86 jails in Odisha have contributed one day’s salary totaling Rs 15.36 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards fighting COVID-19 pandemic.
Sri Santosh Kumar Upadhyay, Director-General, Prisons and Correctional Services, today handed over the cheque of the same amount to Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has appealed to the people and other organisations to donate generously to CMRF to provide humanitarian help to the COVID-19 affected people.
So far, many people from different sections, organisations, temples have donated to CMRF to help the State government’s effort in fighting COVID-19.
