Zürich: Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has received 30 lakh ticket requests for the World Cup Final to be hosted in Qatar in the month of December.

According to the data accessed by The Associated Press, FIFA have received 2.5 million ticket requests to see Argentina play Mexico on November 26 at the 80,000-capacity Lusail Stadium, and 1.4 million fans hope to see England face the United States the previous day at the 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium.

Qatar will have to find ways to find accommodation for the visitors as well as sort out the administrative processes required for each person during their visit.

With such huge requests for tickets, FIFA will be arranging a random draw to allocate tickets for matches where the demand exceeds capacity.

The ticket requests need to be put in the context that World Cup ticket prices have risen by almost half since the 2018 edition in Russia. AP reported that the most expensive tickets for the upcoming edition will be at an astronomical 5,850 Qatari riyals ($1,607).
