Kolkata: The showdown between West Bengal Governor and CM Mamata Banerjee has come to the fore again, according to reports.
The faceoff between Banerjee and Governor Jagdeep Dhankar is now in public domain. While the Governor has criticised the state government over constitutional provisions that ensure his position as the constitutional head of the state, Banerjee in return has accused him of trying to run a parallel government.
The showdown has become more evident during commemoration of the 70th anniversary of Indian constitution.
As soon as the Governor arrived, the chief minister and the speaker of the House Biman Banerjee went to greet him but the Governor walked past the chief minister without acknowledging her presence. Banerjee was caught off guard with the unexpected snub.
