Shahjahanpur: A law student from Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur who has accused senior BJP leader Swami Chinmayanand of raping her for a year has claimed that a pen drive containing a video, which has been handed over to the police, could expose the ‘real face’ of the politician.
A youth, who claims to be the victim’s brother, reportedly handed over the pen drive to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the Supreme Court to probe the case.
The 23-year-old girl student claimed that she filmed Chinmayanand with a hidden camera mounted on her spectacles She has alleged that Chinmayanand raped her for a year by blackmailing her with her obscene videos.
In her complaint, the victim said that she went to the politician for admission into his law college last year. After her admission, she was engaged in a job at the college library and later moved to the hostel following advise by Chinmayanand. The politician then called her and showed a video of her taking a bath and used it to outrage her modesty.
She further claimed that Chinmayanand also filmed the same and used it to blackmail her repeatedly. Following this, she decided to secretly film him and did so by installing a camera in her glasses.
On the other hand, Chinmayanand’s counsel Om Singh said that the minister has “full faith in the judiciary” and termed the woman’s allegations as “new drama”.
After sustained and long interrogation of the youth by the SIT, it is being said that the victim’s family has already expressed doubt over the probe. Now it is up to the police what it can churn out from the pen drive.
