Entry Of Bouncers At Congress Bhawan: 3-Member Panel Formed To Probe

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Congress on Thursday formed a three-member panel to probe into the entry of bouncers at Congress Bhawan on January 10.

The probe committee led by Ranjib Biswal will submit its report to the AICC. The two other members are Batakrushna Tripathy and Nishikanta Mishra, informed acting president of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Niranjan Patnaik.

After the party constituted a panel to probe the matter, former convener of Odisha Chhatra Congress Itish Pradhan termed the action as just eyewash. He claimed that the OPPC chief and his son Navajyoti had brought the bouncers into the Congress Bhawan against Student Congress activists.

Earlier, Pradhan had accused the OPCC chief of having a nexus with the ruling-BJD. Following this, the OPCC chief had suspended Pradhan as the Student Congress convener.

The incident had taken place on January 10 when some bouncers had threatened Pradhan and some Student Congress activists against entering the party headquarters.
