Elephants wreak havoc in Sundargarh village


Bonai: An elephant herd wreaked havoc in Deogaon village of Bonai Forest Range in Sundergarh district on Friday.

Sources said, the wild animals from the nearby forest strayed into the village and devastated agricultural fields. Villagers claimed that the Jumbos have damaged at least two acres of standing crops causing a huge loss to them.

Forest officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

Forest officials said they have launched an operation to drive away the pachyderms into the wild.
