Dhenkanal: The carcass of an elephant was spotted in a nullah under Hindol forest range in the district on Friday.
According to sources, locals found the pachyderm dead and immediately alerted the forest department about the same.
The forest officials rushed to the spot and recovered the carcass for post mortem. The wild animal died following a fight among elephants, said DFO.
