Keonjhar: An elderly man allegedly raped and attempted to murder a minor girl in ward number 15 under Barbil police limits in the Keonjhar district.
According to reports, the accused allegedly tied the 10-year-old girl and outraged her modesty. Thereafter, the accused attempted to kill her by smashing her with a huge piece of stone over the fear of getting exposed.
However, the accused man left the minor girl behind naked and escaped as she fainted on the spot.
Some locals spotted the minor girl naked and rushed her to the Department of Paediatrics of Government Medical College and Hospital in Keonjhar.
Later, the minor girl was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in critical condition.
