Bhubaneswar: Muslim community across Odisha are celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today with fervour and gaiety. The festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide marks the end of fasting month of Ramzan.
The mosques in the capital city have been decorated with beautiful lights and there is excitement in the air with families looking forward to getting together, wearing new clothes, relishing good food and most of all spreading cheer on this auspicious occasion.
On this occasion, people of the Islam community in Cuttack gathered at mosques to offer prayers and hugged each other with promises of kindness and brotherhood.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik greeted the people of the state on the auspicious occasion.
People also offered morning namaz at Delhi’s Jama Masjid on occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr today.
Eid-ul-Fitr also called the “Festival of Breaking the Fast”, is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
