New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has banned rallies and road shows in West Bengal with immediate effect.
The poll body on Thursday said that the measure has been taken as Covid safety norms are being flouted in West Bengal during campaigning.
The ECI said no public meeting over 500 people will be allowed. The commission is anguished that a number of political parties and candidates have flouted Covid norms.
